As the Olympics get closer we prepare for our summer break. The first half of our season goes into the books with 10 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Just a reminder that unlike our 16 match 2007 season we are scheduled to play 25 matches in 2008. In other news, many players are leaving Beijing over the summer, and some won't be returning. With a depleted squad we will be looking for tournaments to enter during this period. We will also be looking to recruit new players for our post Olympic 11aside campaign. Watch this space.

Welcome our new official sponsor LA BAMBA Mexican Bar and Restaurant in WU DAO KOU. Newly opened and attached to Propaganda, LA BAMBA offers a relaxed pub atmosphere and good food at good prices. With two big screens it's also a recommended destination for catching Euro 2008.
This year has seen some strange weather in the capital, with several matches being cancelled due to heavy showers. The season continues, and as players come and go with the tightening visa policies, we are trying our best to cope with changes to the lineups each week and maintain organization on the field.

Our eleven aside season started yesterday with a 7-0 win over Blue Ajax Friends. This is the first time in club history we've won our season opener, having lost our opening matches in '05, '06 and '07. The search for talented opponents continues as Scorpions look to establish dominance for another year in the Haidian district.

Happy New Year! With our brief Futsal season behind us and the weather improving it's time to head back outside. We started our preseason off with an outdoor 5aside tournament at the Western Academy of Beijing put on by their staff. Our seven man team found out how unfit they were by crashing out in the semi finals to WAB Elite and putting in a pretty poor showing. Robin was the MVP and took home best goal keeper award, well done! Credit to Mr. Davies and WAB for putting on a great tournament, and to champions Sexy FC. Meanwhile back at the training pitch it's time to put in some running before the 2008 11aside season begins.

Winter means indoor football time, and what better way to keep fit than joining the Beijing casual futsal league. Following a two hour training session to get acquainted with the world's official five-aside game, we played our first match against Beijing AS Roma, losing 10-7. It's a unique game with different rules, time system and ball than outdoor football and English five-aside. For more information on Futsal (futbol sala) : click here. We will continue playing matches every Sunday throughout the winter.

Be sure to check out the Players and Reports sections for updated stats from the years events. Thanks to everyone for coming out and making this season a success! We will be organizing indoor football throughout the winter so be sure to E-mail and stay tuned for upcoming events.
